Gluten-free Brisbane: bakeries, cafes and kitchens that take it seriously

Eating gluten-free in Brisbane got dramatically easier in the last decade — but the information about it stayed scattered across menus, socials and guesswork. Our map records dietary tags that OpenStreetMap surveyors log venue by venue, which gives this guide an unusual property: every place below has been marked gluten-free-friendly by someone who actually stood in it.
How we know (and what to still ask)
A “gluten-free” tag on the map means the venue offers genuine GF options — it does not always mean a dedicated coeliac-safe kitchen. If cross-contamination matters for you, the one question to ask is whether fryers and prep areas are separate. The venues below are the right starting points, not a medical guarantee.
West End: the gluten-free capital
No suburb carries more surveyed dietary tags than West End. Along and around Boundary Street you get You Came Again (fully plant-based with GF options), Doan's Cafe, Alphabet, Doc Brown and Cheeky Poké Bar — a full day of eating without touching wheat. The suburb's health-food grocers back it up for the pantry run.
Around the city
- Flour Leopard in Kangaroo Point — a bakery whose name tells you they think about flour more carefully than most.
- Fiddle Leaf in Bulimba — the east-side brunch stop with GF options across the menu.
- The Roadhouse & Brewery in Morningside — proof that GF and pub food are not enemies.
- Snack Man in Fortitude Valley — Asian-leaning plates with clear dietary labelling.
The vegan overlap
Brisbane's plant-based kitchens tend to treat gluten as carefully as they treat meat. Vege Rama in the CBD and Grown in West End both label clearly, and Charlie's Raw Squeeze covers the smoothie and raw end. If you are cooking instead, The Green Edge in Windsor is the specialty grocer worth the detour.
